Eleventh Generation: The Mississippi Branch

Lawrence Primeaux, called Larry, was born in 1949. He married Lisa Marr Meierhoefer on August 14, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee. Her parents were Curt H. Meierhoefer and Ruth S. Stegmann.

Larry was born in 1949, in Abbeville. He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana, Lafayette) and Nicholls State University. In 1969, two weeks after Hurricane Camille devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast, he moved with his father and family to Oxford, Mississippi, where he enrolled in the University of Mississippi and earned a BA in 1971 and a JD in 1973. He practiced law in Memphis and Atlanta before moving his family to Meridian, Mississippi in 1978. He was engaged there in the general practice of law until 2006, when he was elected Chancery Court Judge for the Twelfth Chancery Court District in Lauderdale and Clarke Counties, which is a state trial court position. He has been sitting as Chancellor since then. Larry has served as President of the Lauderdale County Bar Association, Chairman of the Mississippi State Charity Hospital Board, United Way Campaign Chairman and President, and on various civic boards and committees. His firm served as City Attorney for eight years, and he also served as attorney for the Meridian Regional Airport, Meridian Civil Service Commission, and Meridian Transportation Commission.

Lisa was born in 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee. She is an alumna of the University of Mississippi, and she obtained her nursing degree from Meridian Community College. She has worked as an RN at Anderson and Rush Hospitals in Meridian, as well as with the Lauderdale County Health Department. She is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Lisa and Larry are members of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Meridian where each has served in numerous capacities.

The children of Lisa and Larry are: Aimee Marr Primeaux, born in 1976; Paul Ledet Primeaux, in 1978; and Mark David Primeaux, born in 1984.
