Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, for Paul Dewey “Bill” Breaux, age 83, who died Saturday, January 9, 2016, at his residence in Youngsville, Louisiana.

Bill is survived by his four children: Kenneth Breaux; Mary Guidry and husband Randy; Susie Breaux; and Steven Breaux and wife Leslie. His grandchildren are Nicole Palombo (Susie), Emelie Guidry (Mary), and Annie and Alex Breaux (Steven).

As a young man, Bill served in the National Guard after graduating from Cathedral High School in Lafayette. He worked as a supervisor at BellSouth for 34 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing softball and coaching his sons’ little league baseball teams. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved to garden, and was known for his beautiful lawn.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Janice Primeaux Breaux, and by his parents, Paul Dewey Breaux, Sr., and the former Sadie Domingue. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Bernice Jennings and Sadie Mae Smith, as well as his brother, Charles Breaux.

The funeral mass was celebrated at the funeral home chapel in Lafayette, with Rev. William Schambough, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, officiating. Lectors were Nicole Palombo and Annie Breaux. Pallbearers were Alex Breaux, Chris Mouledous, Douglas Duhon, Russell Arceneaux, Shelley Mouledous, and Phil Mouledous.  Interment was at St. Anne Mausoleum in Youngsville.
